About me

Are you looking for an experienced architect or are you planning to do business in the tourism?

I would like to introduce myself – my name is Dipl.-Ing. Tomas Horniak and I am the creator of Kutica. With over a decade of experience, my designs emphasize energy efficiency, timeless design and sustainability. My portfolio of projects in Austria and in Slovakia includes family houses, schools, kindergartens, healthcare facilities, shopping malls, industrial buildings with an accent on architectural quality and contemporary technology.
One of the areas I am professionally involved in is the design and realization of tiny-houses such as Kutica. These compact and efficient buildings not only maximize functionality, but also offer the opportunity to live sustainably with minimal impact on the surroundings.
With this idea in mind, I decided to start the Kutica project. As an architect, I was looking for new challenges, such as the tourism business. The goal was to create a unique experiential accommodation that would be in harmony with the specific land and surroundings. In the end, I decided on my grandfather’s land, which has been in my family for over 100 years. Today, Kutica u Lohajov stands on it. The Kutica project has grown with the number of satisfied clients – today I offer our guests a total of 4 unique accommodations.
Based on my experience in business, architecture and the realization of a wide range of projects, I want to offer you the opportunity to cooperate in the form of a Kutica franchise, designing your dream home or a larger project.

Best places to visit in the area

Calvary

Calvary was built on the western edge of the town on the hill Záhrb after 1820. It consists of fourteen brick chapels – the Stations of the Cross, in front of which stands a simple rectangular chapel of the Suffering Christ.

Tourist lookout tower Háj

It is one of the most beautiful lookout towers around Nova Bana. It is located on the educational trail Zvonička. Visitors have a view of the panorama of the city Nova Bana, the ridge of Pohronský Inovec and part of the Danubian Lowland.

Hron Heritage Tunnel

For several generations of miners, it had mainly two functions: it was intended for drainage of mines in the northern district in the area of Vŕšky and Neufang, and it was also an important mining horizon at the level of Hron.

Town Hall

The town hall is the dominant feature of the town, it was originally built as a royal house in the 14th century. It was the seat of the mining count. One of his responsibilities was to test the purity of the precious metals brought to him by the miners. Since 1972, it has been turned into a museum.
